Lowemon: The Darkness Spirit Digimon
March 10, 2010Duskmon
- One of Cherubimon’s evil warriors, Duskmon can transform other Digimon’s regret into dark energy. An expert swordsman with the blades he can extend from his forearms, the source of his power is sealed in his armor’s three necks and seven eyeballs. Killed Arbormon saying he was worthless without his beast spirit. He then absorbed his spirit.
- Attacks
- Deadly Gaze [Geisterabend (Ghost/Spirit Evening)]: Projects energy beams from his hands and the assorted eyeball-like protrusions over his body.
- Lunar Plasma [Eroberung (Conquest)]: He raises and lowers his swords forming a red moon and then rushes at his enemy, slicing them.
Velgemon
- Velgmon in the Japanese version. Cherubimon gives Duskmon the Beast Spirit of Darkness to ‘free’ him from his humanity. From his appearance, he is called “The Devourer of the Dead”. In the English dubbed South-Asian release of the TV series he is known as Velgrmon, a more accurate name in reference to where it came from. The toy versions of the D-Tector released in the region can attest to this.
- Duskmon hates changing into this form unless it is necessary. He is so powerful that only a combination of Aldamon and Beowulfmon is powerful enough to stand up to him. He is named after Hræsvelgr who guarded the Underworld in Norse mythology.
- Attacks
- Dark Obliteration (Zone Deleter): Using his wing, he draws a circle on the ground then a ball forms destroying anything in it.
- Dark Vortex (Master of Darkness): Flying at maximum power, he fires a beam into the group trapping his enemy in another space-time.
Digimon Forms
- Both of Koichi’s spirits (along with J.P.) are temporarily transferred to Koji’s Digivice when he evolves into MagnaGarurumon.
- Although it is not shown in the anime, Löwemon and JägerLöwemon can fusion digivolve into Raihimon.
- In the anime Koichi never directly spirit evolves to JägerLöwemon. He only evolves to Löwemon and then slide Evolves to JägerLöwemon.
- Possibly because of his condition, whenever Koichi Spirit Evolves, his fractal code takes noticeably longer to appear.
Löwemon
Using the Human Spirit of Darkness, Koichi becomes this majin Digimon. Strongly holding the power of AncientSphinxmon, he wields the ancient Digimon’s tail and head as his lance and shield, respectively.
- Attacks
- Shadow Meteor [Schattenmeteor (German)]: Löwemon gathers energy in the jaws of the lion head on his chest and releases a powerful burst of dark energy.
- Shadow Lance [Schattenlanze (German)]: Löwemon raises his spear, spinning it and gathering momentum and then dashes forward, thrusting his spear forward.
JägerLöwemon
- Kaiserleomon in the Japanese version. The words Jäger and Kaiser have German origins. Jäger means hunter and Kaiser means Emperor. Like Sakkakumon, he is strangely called by his Japanese name in the English dub released in the South-Asian region. The toy versions of the D-Tector released in the South-Asian region attest to this.
Using the Beast Spirit of Darkness, Koichi becomes this cyborg-beast Digimon. Koichi was the second person, aside from Zoe Orimoto, to be able to control their beast spirit without challenge. The reason Koichi was able to control his Beast Spirit so fast and easy was because of his desire to protect Koji Minamoto. He is first seen in episode 33.
- Attacks
- Ebony Blast [Schwarzer Donner (Black Thunder)]: Releases a burst of dark energy as the pistons on his back recoil and can continue releasing bursts.
- Dark Master [Schwarzer König (Black King)]: Leaps forward as dark energy forms a giant burst of dark energy from his mouth, slicing through his enemy as he kills and absorbs data
Beetlemon: The Thunder Spirit Digimon
BeetlemonJ.P. becomes this Digimon when he uses the Human Spirit of Thunder. Beetlemon is a large humanoid digimon who has a large horn on his head. He is capable of flight, and is covered in a blue and yellow armor-like exoskeleton. The armor plates just above his knees bear the insignia of AncientBeetlemon. Beetlemon is significantly larger than the other hybrids formed from Human Spirit evolutions, and appears to have more raw, non-elemental strength. Beetlemon first appeared on “Ladies and Gentlemen: the Beetlemon” while the group was at the Wind Factory. Snimon, and his Goblimon had been using the spirit as a power source. After J.P. received it, he spirit evolved into Beetlemon and scanned the Snimon. Beetlemon’s original, Japanese name is Blitzmon. Attacks |
MetalKabuterimonThis is the form J.P. assumes when he uses the Beast Spirit of Thunder. MetalKabuterimon’s entire body is covered in armor, and has two cannons for arms and one larger cannon on his head. The larger cannon on his head is able to open up to reveal a power gauge for his “Electron Cannon” attack. Of all the Beast Spirit Digimon, MetalKabuterimon is the third largest (beaten by Sakkakumon and Petaldramon). Although his “Electron Cannon” attack is slow to fire, it is the most powerful attack belonging to the Spirit Digimon. MetalKabuterimon first appears on “No Whamon” when J.P. acquired its spirit from a Whamon. At first J.P. had no control over this form, but gained control very quickly. MetalKabuterimon’s first act was to defeat Grumblemon with a single shot of his Electron Cannon, making him the first one to defeat one of the evil Legendary Warriors. MetalKabuterimon’s original, Japanese name is Bolgmon. Attacks

Kazemon: The Wind Spirit Digimon
Kazemon
Kazemon (フェアリモン Fairymon)
Human Spirit of Wind
Kazemon, also known as Fairymon in Japan, is the Human Spirit of Wind. Her original name comes from the English word “fairy”, while her name in the dubbed version comes from “kaze”, the Japanese word for wind. She is kind, caring and strong. Her preferred attacks are powerful kicks and hurricane force winds. She first transformed into Kazemon on the episode “Kazemon Kicks It” when she confronted with the Mushroom brothers who were endangering the Floramon. She like agunimon.
Later she became Kazemon again to help distract the Goblimon. In the episode “Can’t Keep a Grumblemon Down”, Zoe lost her spirit while fighting Gigasmon, and didn’t get it back until “No Whamon”.
Kazemon has large butterfly-like wings sprouting from her back. She uses these wings to take flight.
Attacks:
- Hurricane Wave [Brezza Petalo (Breeze Petal)]: Long, thin tornadoes erupt from Kazemon’s fingertips which she throws at her enemies.
- Tempest Twist [Tornado Gamba (Tornado Leg)]: Does a hand stand while spinning very quickly, creating a strong force of wind that slams her foes.
- Love Tap [Carino Anca (Lovely Hip)]: Taps her foes with her rear end causing temporary feelings of attraction.
- Rapid Kick [Roseo Temporale (Rosy Time)]: Rapidly kicks her enemy with both her legs.
Zephyrmon
Zephyrmon (シューツモン Shutumon)
Beast Spirit of Wind
Zephyrmon, also known as Shutumon, is the Beast Spirit of Wind. Her Japanese name comes from the word Shutu who is the Sumerian god of the south wind. Her English name comes from Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind. She is agile, swift and powerful, and always ready to fight and protect her friends. Considered the most beautiful and fierce of all the spirits, Zephyrmon attacks by manipulating energy, wind and slicing foes with her razor sharp claws, which can also slice through Calmaramon’s Acid Ink. Surprisingly, Zoe was able to control her Beast Spirit without any challenge, contrary to the boys (except Koichi who had no trouble because he was trying to protect his brother Koji and Tommy who was trying to protect Takuya, Koji, Bokomon, Neemon and Datamon), whose Beast Spirits went on destructive rampages or were having having some minor problems with maintaining control until the boys learned to control them; this ability Zoe attributes to her being a girl. However, it was her need to fly that allowed her to control it quickly; Zoe felt she needed to fly to protect her friends and was thus able to control it fast. Zephyrmon first appeared on the episode “The Swiss-Family Digimon” to fight Ranamon, the Warrior of Water who attacked the Digidestined as they attempted to cross the water to get to the island where the Gomamon lived. Zephrymon later defeated and killed Ranamon in a one on one fight with Ranamon as Calmaramon.
Zephyrmon can use her large brown wings to take the air and soar through the sky at incredible speeds. She also has the vision of an eagle.
Attacks:
- Hurricane Gale (Wind of Pain): Throws blades of pink energy at her foes, which rip and slice them with the force of a tornado.
- Plasma Pods (Gilgamesh Slicer): Red energy orbs form around her hands and feet with which she uses slices and dice her enemies with the power of a hurricane.
Kumamon: The Ice Spirit Digimon
KumamonTommy can become this bear-like Digimon when he uses the Human Spirit of Ice. He first appeared on “Kumamon Baby, Light My Fire”. Kumamon resembles a small ice bear with a green headband around his head. Tommy first Spirit Evolves into Kumamon to help Agunimon fight against a Candlemon. Kumamon helps Agunimon locate the real Wizardmon, who had digivolved from one of the Candlemon. Kumamon is the smallest of all 10 legendary warriors. Kumamon’s original, Japanese name is Chakkumon. Attacks
|
KorikakumonTommy turns into this Digimon when he uses the Beast Spirit of Ice. Korikakumon possesses the most raw, non-elemental power out of all the Beast Spirit Digimon. He wields two battle axes, named “Eji” and “Oji“. Tommy receives his Beast Spirit from Datamon in “Bizarre Bazarr”, when it was found as a prize in a game cartridge after Tommy won, and digivolves into Korikakumon for the first time to fight Arbormon. Though it never went into a fit of rage with lack of control from Tommy per se, when not in control it does stop to pray. Korikakumon’s original, Japanese name is Blizzarmon. Attacks
|
Lobomon: The Light Spirit Digimon
LobomonLobomon (Wolfmon) is Koji’s Digimon form when he uses the Human Spirit of Light. The name “Lobomon” comes from “Lobo“, the Spanish word for “Wolf”. Lobomon first appears in “Lobomon: Warrior of Light” of Digimon Frontier. Tommy and J.P. were being chased by a group of Pagumon and fell into a mysterious chamber. They were found by Koji, who beat off the Pagumon using a pole. However, a Pagumon digivolved into Raremon, and turned the tables against Koji. Takuya and Zoe arrived and Takuya proceeded to Spirit Evolve to Agunimon. However, he lost the fight and reverted to his human form. Trying to push Tommy away from an attack, Takuya accidentally pushed Koji into a deep hole. Raremon’s acid attack hit the wall at just the correct spot, releasing a beam of light that revealed Koji’s Human Spirit of Light. This allowed Koji to Spirit Evolve into Lobomon for the first time. Attacks |
KendoGarurumonKendoGarurumon (Garmmon) is Koji’s digimon form when he uses the Beast Spirit of Light. KendoGarurumon is a wolf-like digimon who can move at the speed of light. It looks similar to MetalGarurumon. KendoGarurumon first appears on “Can’t Keep a Grumblemon Down” when the group fought against Grumblemon. Koji helped some Gotsumon by replacing a gem into the eye of a rock, and released the Beast Spirit of Light. Koji became the first of the group to Spirit Evolve with a Beast Spirit, turning into KendoGarurumon and defeats Grumblemon. He had trouble at first controlling the Beast Spirit but quickly got over it. KendoGarurumon has no relation to Garurumon—the “Garurumon” in his name is the result of the producers of the English dubbed version changing his name from Garmmon, his original Japanese name. Attacks
(Speed Star): KendoGarurumon uses the Wing Blades on his back to slice apart the enemy. |
BeowolfmonKoji assumes this form when he gains the power to combine both his spirits. Beowulfmon’s name derives from the Epic poem Beowulf, and the poem’s protagonist hero of the same name. Beowulfmon first appears in “Stuck in Sakkakumon with You”, where Koji was trapped within Mercurymon’s Darkness Sphere. Koji fought, and was defeated by Duskmon, forcing him to revert to his human form. About to be killed by Duskmon, Koji started thinking back to all the things he felt he regretted in his life. His will to continue living wakened Seraphimon’s Digi-Egg, upgrading Koji’s D-Tector and giving him the power to combine his Beast and Human Spirits. Attacks
|
MagnaGarurumonKoji achieves this form when he Unifies the Spirits of Light, Darkness, Thunder, Water and Steel.Magnagarurumon looks similar to Metalgarurumon X from digital monster X evolution .He fights against, and eventually defeats, Dynasmon and Crusadermon alongside EmperorGreymon. This is the form he assumes during most of his fights against Crusadermon. He also fights against the corrupted Cherubimon. When he attacks with any move except Magna Saber, the weapon falls away from MagnaGarurumon afterwards, meaning he can only use each attack (except Magna Saber and Starburst Hunter) once per use of this form. Renamon: The Fox Lady Digimon
Renamon became Rika’s partner after she received her D-Power (D- Arc in Japan) shortly after a Digimon Cards tournament. Many Digimon appeared to ask Rika to be their tamer, but at the end, Rika’s choice was Renamon; “I just want one strong Digimon.” Renamon remained as Rika’s companion throughout the Tamers season. Renamon does not remember how she came to the real world from the Digiworld; she only remembers her partnership with Rika. Whenever Rika is alone, Renamon can appear to her.
At first, Renamon’s view on humans was that they were just aides for Digimon in Digivolution, and her Tamer, Rika, thought that Digimon were just fighting machines. The two had a distant relationship. As time passed, their friendship grew stronger, having understood each other better, and the two saved each other on many occasions. It reached its zenith when, during the D-Reaper’s attack, Rika told Renamon that she preferred fighting by Renamon’s side over leaving the battle and saving herself. This enabled the final Bio-mergeance that sparked Sakuyamon’s birth.
Attacks:
- Diamond Storm (狐葉楔 Fox Leaf Arrowhead): Renamon summons a cloud of razor-sharp ice shards which she fires on her foe.
- Power Paw: Only used once in the show, Renamon’s hands and feet are surrounded by blue fire as she strikes.
- Kokhenyo : Renamon becomes surrounded by yellow leaves and switches places with the foe
Other forms
The name “Renamon” refers to only the Rookie form of this Digimon. Throughout the series, Renamon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms (each with a different name). The rookie form, however, remains the most common and preferred form.
ViximonViximon is the In-Training form of Renamon. The name “Viximon” comes from “Vixen”, the word for a female fox. Viximon is a small yellow round ball with four legs, a pair of sharp pointy fox ears and a fluffy white-tipped tail. Viximon appears once when Renamon De-Digivolved after the defeat of the D-Reaper, and returned to the Digital World soon after. Attacks:
|
KyubimonKyubimon is Renamon’s Champion level form. Kyubimon is a yellow nine-tailed fox with a white mane and mystical blue flames flaring around her paws and tail tips. Kyubimon was inspired by a mythical Japanese beast, the kitsune, which is based on the same Japanese myth. Rika had wanted Renamon to digivolve for a long time, but wasn’t able to achieve it. However, when the two were attacked by a Dokugumon, Renamon protected Rika, thus taking the full blast of Dokugumon’s attack. Rika, who had never accepted Renamon as a living creature before, cried out in sorrow over Renamon’s sacrifice. This emotional response caused Renamon to digivolve to Kyubimon, who was now able to defeat the Spider Digimon. Renamon later digivolves again several times to battle the Devas and other evil Digimon in the Digital World. Attacks:
|
TaomonTaomon is Renamon’s Ultimate form. Taomon’s dress style, including the long hat and the robes she wears, is based upon the religion Taoism and a christian Vicar. Taomon fights by summoning various spells and weapons to help her harness the powers of the magical energy that flows through the universe. Taomon first appeared to fight the Ox Deva, Vajramon. Vajramon had asked to talk with Renamon, and the two briefly returned to the Digital World. Vajramon, who seemed smitten with Renamon, tried to convince her to join the Devas. When Renamon turned him down, Vajramon was enraged and attacked Renamon. With Rika’s aid, Renamon was able to Digivolve to Taomon, defeating Vajramon easily and destroying him with the Talisman Of Light. Taomon later appeared again to fight Vikaralamon, Beelzemon, Zhuqiaomon and the agents of the D-Reaper. Attacks:
|
SakuyamonSakuyamon is the Mega form of Renamon. Sakuyamon was formed when Rika biomerged with Renamon while they took a leap of faith to save Calumon from the D-Reaper. Rika fell back into Renamon and there was a blinding flash of blue light. Data rings formed around them as the visage of a lady with long hair was seen leaping high into the moonlight, landing clad in golden armor and holding a khakkhara. Sakuyamon appeared thereafter in almost every battle against the D-Reaper. Near the end of the series, Sakuyamon passed her energy to Justimon to help him defeat the Cable-Reaper, which only proved to be in vain. She later returns in Runaway Locomon during the final battle in which they were overwhelmed until Gallantmon: Crimson Mode saved the day and destroyed all of the Parasimon in one shot with his Crimson Light attack. Sakuyamon’s name is derived from the Japanese Princess Sakuya of Konohana (『木花の開耶姫』) In the final volume of the Digimon Tamers manga produced by Tokyopop, when Sakuyamon passed her energy to Gallantmon to help him defeat the D-Reaper, it proved successful and Gallantmon was able to save the day. It is noteworthy that in episode 49 of Digimon Tamers, Renamon stated to Rika’s mother that digimon do not have genders when questioned as to whether or not she was female. This is a translation glitch, as in the original Japanese, Renamon says Digimon do not have ‘biology’ (meaning female biology, the ability to reproduce). But the line created for the English dub clashes with Sakuyamon’s physical form, which is definitively female. Attacks:

Terriermon: The Mega Robot Digimon
The Terriermon species made its first appearance in Digimon The Movie where a Terriermon appears as a main character. This terriermon is under the ownership of Willis and is the twin brother of Kokomon, a digimon who had been affected by a virus. This Terriermon is shown to also digivolve into Gargomon as well as Rapidmon (a Golden variant) utilising the Golden DigiEgg. This terriermon appears similar to the one that appears in Digimon Tamers however it had a more lighter color tone to it as well as differences to attacks such as Bunny Blast.
Henry Wong’s Terriermon started out as a wild Digimon, fighting by the rules of the “survival of the fittest” doctrine in the harsh realm of the Digital World.[1] When Henry received a Digimon video game as a present from his father, he selected Terriermon to play with because he identified with him (he said he wanted to be challenged by a small digimon). During a battle between Terriermon and Gorillamon, Henry caused Terriermon to Digivolve into Gargomon. However, Gargomon lost control of his powers and Terriermon was nearly unconscious when he De-Digivolved, causing Henry to regret causing Terriermon’s digivolution. Soon after, the mysterious Blue Card was discovered among Henry’s card collection. Henry swiped the card through his card reader, transforming it into a D-Power. Terriermon then Bio-Emerged into the Real World as Henry’s partner. At first, Henry hid Terriermon from his family by making Terriermon act like a simple stuffed animal. Later, Terriermon met the other Tamers, and became fast friends with Guilmon (Takato’s partner).
Terriermon has a laid back personality - and often uses the word “Momentai” (written as 無問題 or 无问题), a Cantonese phrase that means “no problem“(In the English Dub, this has the translation of “Momentai” has been changed to “take it easy“).
Terriermon was the first digimon to digivolve into champion level in Digimon Tamers.
Attacks
- Bunny Blast (Blazing Fire): Terriermon fires energy blasts from his mouth. This can be in either a rapid round of tiny blasts, or in one large concentrated blast.
- Terrier Tornado (Petit Twister): Terriermon spins himself around and shoots a green tornado at his enemies.
- Twin Cyclone (Double Twister): A twin attack performed alongside Lopmon. Terriermon performs his “Terrier Tornado” attack at the same time lopmon performs its “Lop Twister”; causing both attacks to combine into a quite powerful wormhole-like cyclone, hence the name.
Other forms
The name “Terriermon” refers to only the rookie form of this digimon. Throughout the series, Terriermon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms (each with a different name). The rookie form, however, remains as his most common form.
GummymonGummymon is Terriermon’s In-Training form. After the final battle in Digimon Tamers, Terriermon De-Digivolved to Gummymon, & afterwards returned to the Digital World. Attacks
|
GargomonGargomon is Terriermon’s Champion form. Terriermon accidentally Digivolved into Gargomon while Renamon and Guilmon were fighting in an indoor parking lot and went out of control. If not for Guilmon tackling him into a wall, Gargomon would have fired at Rika. The same problem happened when Henry was playing his online videogame and Terriermon Digivolved into Gargomon to drive off Gorillamon. It wasn’t until the following battle against Musyamon that Gargomon was able to control himself and that Henry realized that there are times when one needs to fight in order to prevent disaster. Attacks

RapidmonRapidmon redirects here. This section is about the Rapidmon featured in Digimon Tamers. For the Rapidmon seen in Digimon Adventure 02, see Rapidmon (Armor).
Rapidmon is the Ultimate form of Terriermon. His upper body is metal except for his face and the base of his ears. His fur is a light cream color. When Henry slashed a “Blue Card”, Gargomon became Rapidmon and used his attacks in a battle against Pajiramon and Vajramon. Rapidmon also appears later on in other battles against Vikaralamon, Beelzemon, Zhuqiaomon and some of the agents of the D-Reaper. He famously said the line “my blood hurts”, a reference to Homestar Runner. Attacks
|
MegaGargomonMegaGargomon is the Mega form of Terriermon. His size and heavy arsenal gives him the appearance of a mecha. MegaGargomon was formed when Henry Biomerged with Terriermon during the fight against the Sovereign, Zhuqiaomon. In this form he was able to hurt the powerful Mega Digimon, but nevertheless lasted only a short time in the fight. He later participated in battles with the D-Reaper, and used the Juggernaut program downloaded by Hypnos to defeat it. In combat, MegaGargomon demonstrates that as a whole, ‘they’ benefit from Henry’s experience as a Tai Chi Martial Arts student, using martial arts in battle against opponents. Attacks

Guilmon: The Fire Dragon Dinosaur Digimon
Guilmon is a virus-type Digimon, though his attitude most of the time could lead to thinking that he was a data or even a vaccine-type. His body is adorned with various signs of the net-hazard symbol, as Guilmon is believed to be able to corrupt a large amount of data. His virus typing could possibly explain his first mega form, Megidramon. Guilmon’s fighting style shows his virus nature, as he fights with much more zeal than Agumon or other digimon protagonists. Guilmon has a very keen sense of smell and possess somewhat of a sixth sense to detect other digimon if around (though the concept of this ability may apply to all digimon, as most in the series could sense the presence of other digimon, if they were around).
Guilmon is a curious and naive digimon, the youngest of the partner Digimon, with a pationate love for bread. He was created from Takato’s imagination and brought to life by the Blue Card.[1] At first, Guilmon had not been aware of the differences between humans and Digimon, calling his partner Tamer “Takatomon.”
Guilmon is normally depicted as playful and friendly, proving to be quite popular with Takato’s classmates for being a real live Digimon. He would refer to Takato as “Takatomon” at the beginning of the series. Despite his childlike nature, Guilmon is shown to have wisdom. For example, when Takato didn’t want Guilmon to digivolve, in fear that Guilmon would no longer be the same, Guilmon pointed out that Takato has changed over time as well, but he is still the same person.
Guilmon had one of the deepest relationships with his tamer out of the whole series, the two did many things together and conquered many hurdles. Guilmon is very loyal and protective of Takato and would do anything for him. When Guilmon digivolved to Megidramon, it was through their friendship that Takato managed to come back to his senses which allowed him to rescue Guilmon and bring him back, later allowing them to biomerge to Gallantmon to fight Beezlemon.
Guilmon gets along very well with Terriermon and Calumon. His first meeting with Renamon was as enemies, but Guilmon does later acknowledge Renamon’s knowledge in combat situations. At first, Guilmon would either ignore or try to play with Impmon.
Unlike previous seasons, Guilmon is not the first Digimon to digivolve into Champion level even though he belongs to the lead character; Terriermon and Renamon digivolved before him. He does digivolve first in both Ultimate and Mega levels however.
Attacks
- Pyrosphere (Fireball): Guilmon spits a concentrated blast of fire from his mouth.
- Rock Breaker: Guilmon hits his opponent with a huge amount of force, almost like he is throwing a rock at his opponent.
Other forms
The name “Guilmon” refers to only the rookie form of this digimon. Throughout the series, Guilmon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms (each with a different name). The rookie form, however, is his most common and preferred form.
GigimonGigimon is Guilmon’s In-Training form. The name “Gigimon” comes from the Japanese word “gigi”, meaning doubt. Gigimon appeared when Guilmon Degenerated to Gigimon after the D-Reaper was defeated and was forced to return to the Digital World. “Gigi” also means teeth in Indonesian / Malay. Attacks:
|
GrowlmonGrowlmon is the Digivolved form of Guilmon. Guilmon first Digivolved to Growlmon during his fight against Devidramon. In this new form, Growlmon fought a fierce battle against the dark dragon and ultimately destroyed him. As he is in this form, he is also able to retain the personaility as Guilmon. At the beginning of episode 9, Growlmon begins to cry as Takato stands before him afraid he will be eaten. But in the end, Takato realizes that he is the same lovable digimon if not a bit bigger. Afterwards, Growlmon discovered that he wasn’t able to regress. Takato tried various methods to make Growlmon use up his “surplus” energy, but failed. Growlmon eventually did De-Digivolve naturally after observing a rainbow with Takato. Further along the series, after a few times of digivolution, Guilmon eventually learns how to de-digivolve. Attacks:
|
WarGrowlmonWarGrowlmon is Guilmon’s Ultimate form. His appearance echos MetalGreymon’s from Digimon Adventure, and his name is shared with WarGreymon. WarGrowlmon first appeared when Mihiramon of the Devas appeared. Since Mihiramon was so much stronger than other Digimon, Takato had to use a Blue Card. Swiping this card allowed Growlmon to Digivolve into WarGrowlmon, who was then able to defeat Mihiramon. Growlmon later digivolved again to defeat the Devas Indramon and Vikaralamon in the real world and to fight both Beelzemon and Zhuqiaomon in the Digital World. WarGrowlmon also fought against the D-Reaper when the tamers returned from the digital world, due to their temporary inability to bio-merge. The first few times Growlmon Digivolved into WarGrowlmon, he and Takato were linked mentally. Takato felt pain every time WarGrowlmon was hit and declared the “Atomic Blaster” attack at the same time his Digimon was about to use the attack. Attacks:

MegidramonMegidramon is a Mega Digimon whose name comes from the word “Megiddo“, the place where Christians believe the final battle between good and evil will take place; and “dramon”, meaning “dragon monster”. The death of Leomon at the hands of Beelzemon caused Takato to become enraged with blood lust, and this caused Guilmon to turn into Megidramon. He later became horrified by Guilmon’s transformation (which also destroyed his D-Arc). In this form the full destructive power of the Digital Hazard is released, which begins to shake apart the Digital World (in other words, he could destroy the digital world merely by existing). At first, Megidramon seemed to have the upper hand against Beelzemon and attempted to devour him. However, Beelzemon eventually won the battle by absorbing Makuramon’s data and beating Megidramon unconscious. Takato cried, knelt down by the unconscious Megidramon who de-digivolved to Guilmon and wished that they could fight Beelzemon together as it should be. This resulted in him Biomerging with Guilmon to become Gallantmon, who then defeated but chose to spare Beelzemon. Takato then received a golden D-Power with digicode written around the circular screen afterwards, which could now be used to Biomerge Digivolve with Guilmon to become Gallantmon. Attacks

GallantmonGallantmon redirects here. This section refers to the Gallantmon featured in Digimon Tamers. A Gallantmon is also a member of the Royal Knights
Gallantmon is the true Mega form of Guilmon. Gallantmon was the first Biomerged Digimon to appear. Gallantmon is armed with the holy lance Gram and the shield Aegis. Gallantmon first appeared when Takato Biomerged with Guilmon in order to fight Beelzemon. In this new form, Gallantmon was able to defeat Beelzemon. Gallantmon’s power was later proven to be a major asset in the battle against the D-Reaper. Gallantmon played a key role in confronting the D-Reaper and in obtaining the ARMS “Grani” as his mode of transportation. In the original Japanese, Gallantmon possessed a speech pattern remniscent of a humble knight serving under a lord, always referring to himself as “I, Dukemon,…”. This isn’t present in the dub but applies to all Japanese incarnations of Gallantmon. Attacks
|
Gallantmon Crimson ModeGallantmon Crimson Mode is the mode-changed form of Gallantmon. Gallantmon Crimson Mode appeared towards the end of Digimon Tamers. After Gallantmon had found himself overwhelmed in his battle against the D-Reaper, Grani, in a final act, gave the last of his power to Gallantmon triggering a mode change. In this form, Gallantmon’s armor is coated with crimson metallic and his cape is replaced by angelic wings. As his arsenal, Gallantmon Crimson Mode is armed with the holy sword Blutgang and the celestial spear Gungnir. With this newfound power, Gallantmon Crimson Mode was able to defeat the D-Reaper’s Agent-01. Gallantmon assumes this form again during the fight against the Parasimon in which he uses his Crimson Light attack to destroy all of the Parasimon in one shot. Attacks

Agumon: The Ultimate Fire Dinosaur Digimon
Agumon is the main Digimon in Digimon Adventure, the first Digimon anime series. Agumon’s personality is extremely brave, relaxed, and funny. Being partnered to the leader of the eight DigiDestined featured in Adventure, Agumon is a decisive factor in many battles. He is always the first of the partner Digimon to Digivolve into a stronger form. Agumon is also one of only two partner Digimon to Digivolve to the Mega level, the highest and strongest form a Digimon can attain. (Yamato “Matt” Ishida’s partner Gabumon is the other Digimon to reach Mega.)[1]
Agumon plays a major role in the Digimon Adventure movie Our War Game!. (This film was combined with Digimon Adventure (Movie) and Digimon Hurricane Touchdown/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals to make the English language Digimon: The Movie.) In it, Agumon and Tai teams up with Matt, Gabumon, Tentomon (partner of Izzy Izumi), and Patamon (partner of T. K. Takaishi) to enter the Internet to battle Infermon, an evil Digimon who had taken residence there. (Digimon are made of data and can enter electronic communication networks at will; DigiDestined are temporarily converted to data for this purpose.) Eventually, Infermon was defeated when WarGreymon (Agumon’s Mega form) DNA Digivolved with MetalGarurumon (Gabumon’s Mega) to form Omnimon.
Agumon in episode 11 of Digimon Adventure 02, (The Storm of Friendship).
In Digimon Adventure 02 new DigiDestined were chosen to defend the Digital World. Agumon was no longer a main character, although he made intermittent appearances throughout the series. His most notable contribution was to begin the chain of events that led to Veemon (the new main Digimon) obtaining Raidramon, one of his Armor Digivolved forms. Agumon was temporarily held captive by the Digimon Emperor,[2] the evil persona of the DigiDestined actually named Ken Ichijouji. He was forced to Dark Digivolve to SkullGreymon and a possessed MetalGreymon.[3] Veemon and his partner Davis Motomiya unlocked Veemon’s Raidramon form during the battle to free Agumon.
Attacks
- Pepper Breath/Pepper Flame/Spit Fire Blast (Baby Flame): Shoots an orange and red fireball of varying strength from his mouth.
Other forms
The name “Agumon” refers only to the Rookie form of this Digimon. Throughout the series, Agumon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms, each with a different name and special attack. However, the Rookie level is his preferred form and the one he spends most of his time in, due to the amount of energy required to stay in a higher form.
BotamonBotamon is Agumon’s Fresh form, an infant Digimon. Its name is derived from the Womb (『母胎』 “Botai”). Botamon is a small (about one foot tall) Digimon with black hair covering his body, yellow eyes, and two small bumps on the top of his head (resembling ears). His mouth is covered by his hair and is not visible unless it is opened. He appears once in the episode “The Ultimate Clash” during a flashback where he is seen hatching from Agumon’s Digi-Egg.[4] (These Digi-Eggs are the eggs that all Digimon hatch from - a different type of Digi-Egg can be used to trigger Armor Digivolution.) His voicework was done by Brianne Siddall. Botamon is also seen in the Digimon movie. His voice-work there, however, was done by Peggy O’Neal. Attacks

KoromonKoromon redirects here. This section refers to the Koromon featured in Digimon Adventure/02. For the Koromon in Digimon Savers, see Agumon (Savers).
Koromon is Agumon’s In-Training form. The name “Koromon” derives from the Japanese word “korokoro“, meaning “something small, round, and rolling“. He is a pink, ball-shaped Digimon with floppy ears, bright-red eyes and sharp teeth. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, he is voiced by Brianne Siddall (US) and Chika Sakamoto (Japan). Agumon was in this form in “And So it Begins” when he first met his partner, Tai Kamiya. After his initial Digivolution to Agumon to help battle a wild Kuwagamon, the Rookie level became his preferred form.[5] From then on, Agumon temporarily reverted to Koromon only when he ran out of energy in a higher level and could not sustain his Rookie form. Koromon is also seen in the Digimon Movie. Attacks

GreymonGreymon is Agumon’s Champion form. He is closely modeled after the classic flat-footed, upright depiction of a theropod dinosaur. He mostly looks like the dinosaur Carcharodontosaurus He has well-muscled abdominals and forearms, orange skin with blue stripes, and a brown helmet that encases his head that has an antler-like horn on each side and a single horn on the nose. Greymon is approximately 15 to 20 feet tall, though in Digimon: The Movie, the first Greymon seen is much larger, reaching possibly 100 ft tall, due to digivolving from a bigger version of Agumon. This Greymon was not the same one who appeared in the series. The name “Greymon” comes from a misspelling of the English word “great”. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, he is voiced by Michael Lindsay (US), Bob Papenbrook (US, Movie), and Chika Sakamoto (Japan). Agumon first Digivolved to Greymon in the episode “The Birth Of Greymon” to battle a wild Shellmon in Digimon Adventure.[6] Thereafter, Greymon appears many times in the series to help fight against various enemies; examples include Devimon, Etemon and Myotismon. In Digimon Adventure 02, he was once taken control of by the Digimon Emperor with a Dark Ring, a black metal ring the Emperor developed to subjugate various Digimon. In an unsuccessful attempt to get him to Digivolve to MetalGreymon, the Emperor made him Dark Digivolve to SkullGreymon.[7] Attacks

MetalGreymonMetalGreymon is Agumon’s Ultimate form. Physically, he resembles a larger Greymon with metallic head armor, red hair, metal wings, a trident-like left arm, and twin missile launchers on his chest. He is about 20–30 feet tall. “Metal” is added to his name due to the cyborg-like portions of his body. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, he is voiced by Joseph Pilato (US), and Chika Sakamoto (Japan). Greymon first Digivolved to MetalGreymon in “The Earthquake of Metalgreymon” to battle Etemon. Just prior to the Digivolution, Tai had displayed a sufficient amount of courage when he saved Sora from a Datamon that was holding her and Biyomon captive. Tai’s Crest of Courage activated and Greymon Digivolved to MetalGreymon, who was sucked into a dimensional warp with Tai that sent them to the Real World and destroyed Etemon. After he (as Agumon) and Tai returned to the Digital World, he made several more appearances to battle various enemies, including ShogunGekomon and Devidramon. The two battles he lost were against Myotismon and the Dark Masters. MetalGreymon under the control of the Digimon Emperor In Digimon Adventure 02, Agumon digivolved into the evil, blue-skinned, virus version of MetalGreymon under the control of the Digimon Emperor. He was used to attack the new DigiDestined, as well as Tai and Matt Ishida. During this battle Davis Motomiya, the new DigiDestined’s leader, obtained his Digi-Egg of Friendship. This allowed his partner, Veemon, to Armor Digivolve to Raidramon to break MetalGreymon’s Dark Spiral, the device that was compelling MetalGreymon to obey the Emperor’s orders. Free from the Spiral’s influence, he reverted to Agumon. He returned again during the World Tour, where, alongside MagnaAngemon, he defeated the Mamemon brothers. His final appearance was against Skullsatamon. However, he was drained of energy after the prolonged absence from the digital world and reverted to Agumon mid battle. Attacks

SkullGreymonSkullGreymon is an alternate Ultimate form of Greymon, but its power could be likened to that of a Mega Digimon. The “skull” prefix in his name refers to his body, which is fleshless and entirely composed of bone. A missile lies on his back that is shaped like a shark. SkullGreymon is a destructive and uncontrollable Digimon that results when Greymon is induced to Digivolve incorrectly. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, he is voiced by Doug Erholtz (US), and Chika Sakamoto (Japan). In the episode, “The Arrival of Skullgreymon” Tai desperately wanted Greymon to Digivolve further when he gained his Crest of Courage, an object that would help Greymon obtain his next level. When the evil Etemon confined Tai and the other DigiDestined children in a colosseum, he forced Tai’s Greymon to battle a wild Greymon. Tai purposefully threw himself in front of the evil Greymon to make his partner Digivolve. (The partner Digimon gained new levels primarily when their DigiDestined were put into mortal danger.) This caused Greymon to Dark Digivolve into SkullGreymon,[8] who easily defeated the enemy Greymon. However, he attacked Birdramon (Biyomon’s Champion form and the partner of Sora Takenouchi), Garurumon (Gabumon’s Champion) and Kabuterimon (Tentomon’s Champion) and fled the colosseum. Exhausted, he reverted to Koromon. This experience shows how the mental state of a DigiDestined can affect the way his/her partner will Digivolve. Each of the DigiDestined in Adventure were bestowed personality traits (in Tai’s case, Courage) that they had to display to unlock their Digimon’s Ultimate levels. Tai had been exhibiting a selfish kind of courage during Greymon’s battle, which caused Greymon to Digivolve into the wrong Ultimate. SkullGreymon makes another appearance in Digimon Adventure 02. When the Digimon Emperor took control of Greymon with a Dark Ring, he tried to force him to Digivolve into MetalGreymon. The result was the corrupt Digivolution that had Greymon Digivolve to SkullGreymon for a second time. Skullgreymon defeated the new DigiDestined with just mere hits, however he managed to defeat one Meramon, some Airdramon and a big group of DarkTyrannomon and destroying a Control Spire with his Dark Shot. The Emperor took him back to his base where he attempted to trigger the correct Digivolution several times as well as find a way to control SkullGreymon (It would be wise to control this more powerful version of MetalGreymon) until he managed to get Greymon to become an evil version of MetalGreymon by using a Dark Spiral (created of 3 Dark Rings joined together). WarGreymonWarGreymon is Agumon’s Mega form, possessing the “war” prefix due to his offensive capabilities. He is a humanoid version of Greymon with metal armor (Chrome Digizoid) encasing his head, shoulders, abdominals and legs. He is capable of independent flight - the wing-like projections on his back form his Brave Shield that he removes and uses to block attacks. WarGreymon has two large clawed gauntlets called Dramon Destroyers permanently attached to each arm. However, they have been known to crack occasionally during an intense fight, and on one instance they even broke completely off (when fighting Diaboromon). He is an extremely powerful Mega Digimon. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, he is voiced by Lex Lang (US), and Chika Sakamoto (Japan). WarGreymon made his initial appearance in “Prophecy” (along with MetalGarurumon) in Adventure during the battle with VenomMyotismon, who had infiltrated the Real World and intended to take it over along with the Digital World. Tai and Matt (partner to Gabumon, MetalGarurumon’s primary form) allowed themselves to be struck by arrows from Angewomon (the Ultimate form of Gatomon, Kari Kamiya’s partner) and Angemon (Patamon’s Champion) in accordance with an ancient prophecy. Tai and Matt remained unharmed; the shot arrows gave Agumon and Gabumon the necessary energy to Warp Digivolve to Mega and destroy VenomMyotismon.[1] When the Dark Masters Digimon took over the Digital World, WarGreymon fought and destroyed the first and third members that attacked the DigiDestined, MetalSeadramon and Machinedramon and with MetalGarurumon’s and MagnaAngemon’s help defeated the final Dark Master, Piedmon. WarGreymon was one of the Digidestined’s primary fighters and often looked to as the one of the leaders of the group, often leading the digiteam in attack formation. In Digimon Adventure 02 WarGreymon appeared twice in the series, the first time was to battle his doppelgänger and the series’ anti-hero Digimon BlackWarGreymon. The fight was a dead heat until Imperialdramon Fighter Mode intervened.[9] In his second appearance in the following episode, he was there when BlackWarGreymon was mortally wounded and held him up while trying to get him to save his strength. OmnimonOmnimon redirects here. This section refers to the Omnimon featured in Digimon Adventure/02. Other Omnimon appear in V-Tamer and Tamers, and one is the current leader of the Royal Knights.
Omnimon is the Digimon that results when WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon DNA Digivolve together to create a stronger Digimon. His body is entirely covered in white armor adorned with black, blue and yellow markings. His left arm ends in WarGreymon’s head and his right arm with MetalGarurumon’s, giving him two primary attacks (Transcendent Sword and Supreme Cannon). The cape he wears flows over the width of his body. The name “Omnimon” is derived from “omni”, a Latin prefix meaning “all”. His Japanese name, “Omegamon“, derives from the “omega“, the last letter of the Greek alphabet. Also, because of his relationship with Alphamon, he and Alphamon are supposed to represent Alpha and Omega. His first appearance is in the second Digimon Adventure film, Our War Game!. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon had tried unsuccessfully to defeat Diaboromon, a Digimon they followed into the Internet to prevent him from consuming all its data. When Tai and Matt were accidentally transported inside the Internet they gave their spiritual energy to their Digimon so that they could win - Omnimon formed and defeated Diaboromon. In the second Digimon Adventure 02 movie, Revenge of Diaboromon, Omnimon reformed when the DigiDestined discovered that Diaboromon survived the first battle and returned to the Internet. Omnimon destroyed what he thought was Diaboromon but found that the battle had been a trap - he had been fighting a decoy that exploded to reveal the innumerable Kuramon that were sealed inside. After wreaking havoc in the Real World all of them fused to form Armageddemon, who Omnimon fought, but when he used his surpreme cannon to blow a hole in his forehead, Armageddemon shot out laser whips from the hole that defeated Omnimon. He gave his energy to Imperialdramon Fighter Mode (a more powerful version of Imperialdramon, the Mega Digimon formed when Veemon and Ken Ichijouji’s partner Wormmon DNA Digivolve), who permanently destroyed Armageddemon when he Mode Changed into Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. Piyomon: The Fire Bird Digimon
Biyomon first appears in her In-Training form, Yokomon. She first Digivolves to her rookie form when the DigiDestined were attacked by Kuwagamon. Biyomon later Digivolves into Birdramon, and then with Sora’s Crest of Love, into Garudamon. In the Japanese version of the anime, Biyomon often talks in the 3rd person. Saying “Sora is” where one would normally say “You are”, and also referring to herself in a third person tone.
Biyomon also appears in the sequel season Digimon Adventure 02. In this season, Biyomon had lost the power to Digivolve into Garudamon. When the Digimon Emperor was conquering the Digital World, Biyomon was among the old generation Digimon who helped the new Digi-Destined team out. Like many of the first generation Digi-Destined, she became the protector of a certain area in the Digital World. Biyomon later appears in the real world in Christmas Day as a “present” for the original Digi-Destined organized by Davis and the other newer Digi-Destined. With the power from Azulongmon’s Digi-Cores, she gains the ability to Digivolve to ultimate again.

The name “Biyomon” refers only to the Rookie form of this Digimon. Throughout the series, Biyomon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms, each with a different name and special attack. However, the Rookie level is her preferred form and the one she spends most of her time in, due to the amount of energy required to stay in a higher form.
NyokimonNyokimon is Biyomon’s Fresh form. Nyokimon is a small black seed with green leaves sprouting out of its head. Its name comes from the Japanese word “nyokinyoki“, meaning “plants sprouting one after another”. Nyokimon appears in Digimon Adventure as Biyomon’s Fresh form during a flashback of when the Digi-Eggs first hatched on File Island. Attacks

BirdramonBirdramon is a phoenix-like bird who is Biyomon’s Champion form. Biyomon Digivolved into Birdramon for the first time in the episode “Biyomon Gets Firepower” to defend the Yokomon Village from a Meramon who was controlled by a Black Gear. She also appeared to fight against Devimon, Etemon, Myotismon and the Dark Masters. Biyomon digivolves again to Birdramon in Digimon Adventure 02 to help destroy the Digimon Emperor’s Control Spires. GarudamonGarudamon redirects here. This section refers to the Garudamon featured in Digimon Adventure/02. For the Garudamon in Digimon Savers, see Biyomon (Savers).
Garudamon is Biyomon’s Ultimate form. Her name is derived from the mythological Hindu creature Garuda. Garudamon debuted when Myotismon made himself known to the DigiDestined. In Digimon Adventure-Adventure 02, she is voiced by Melodee Spevack (US), and Atori Shigematsu (Japan). On “Sora’s Crest of Love” Biyomon, weakened from DemiDevimon’s dart, was determined to protect Sora. Sora’s refusal to allow her to fight made her realize that she did know what love was and that she felt it for Biyomon and her mom. When Birdramon was hit by Myotismon’s Crimson Lightning Attack, Sora ran towards her shouting, “Birdramon, No, I love you!” This caused her crest to glow and Birdramon was able to digivolve to Garudamon, who managed to stop Myotismon and allowed the other Digi-Destined to escape. When they fought the Dark Masters, it was Garudamon who destroyed Puppetmon’s Hammer When Sora used the crest power to free the Digimon Sovereigns, Biyomon lost the power to become Garudamon until three years later, when Azulongmon gave one of his DigiCores to the DigiDestined Digimon. This allowed them to Digivolve to their ultimate forms again. Garudamon appeared this time in Moscow to help the Russian DigiDestined fight against a swarm of Flymon and a stampede of Mammothmon.
